RayburnGuy
Hey guys, Was reading an article in one of my old Bass Times and they mentioned a Rebel 'V' R crankbait that ran somewhere between 10 and 15 feet deep. I'd never heard of the 'V' series of lures before and could not find anything about them online. Have any of you heard of this bait before? No picture of the bait in the article. thanks, Ben
JBlaze
What was the year of the Bass Times that the article was in? I remember Wee R, but don't recall ever hearing about a V R crank.
Bbob
I think it's a minnow bait that had a long lip
RayburnGuy
John, The article was coverage of a BASS tourney on Clarks Hill Reservoir in March of 2005 and Jimmy Mize used the bait to help him to a second place finish. The bait had been discontinued prior to the tourney. Not sure how long it had been discontinued prior to the tournament. I don't know Bbob. It could have been, but I don't know of many minnow type baits that can reach that depth unless they're trolled. Ben
Bbob
If I'm correct on the lure, it was four inches long with a inch and a half lip. It's a suspending lure but I could be totally wrong

RayburnGuy
Thanks Mountain Man. Maybe the reason I couldn't find it online is I was separating the V and the R like they did in the article. thanks again, Ben

joetheplumber
Not sure if you have a Facebook account but if you do, check out the Rebel Buy and Trade page( mostly Rebel lure talk and not much buying or selling).... There's a few guys up there that can tell you about every Rebel ever made. I've learned a lot from the guys on there, I'm a Rebel P70 P.O.P R junky myself, and an expensive habit it is....lol Edited September 8, 2015 by joetheplumber

Munkin
They have a red V painted on the lip and I think list the diving depth? I have a bunch of them but they are buried in a Plano box somewhere in the basement. Allen
