Painter1
I am interested in trying my hand bass fishing with spoons. Specifically interested in casting & flutter spoons about 3" long. Can anyone tell me if there is much difference between the Dixie Jet and the LPO casting spoons? I plan to use mostly with flutter fall and stroke method. The price is right for the LPO spoons and I can paint them but I did recently use the DJ with some success. cadman
I spoke to one of my customers that salmon fishes using the stroke method, and he uses LPO spoons as well. I asked him why, versus other brands or premade ones, and he said that flexibility is the key. You can paint them any color you want to match the hatch, and you can put whatever hooks you like on your spoons. Finally, the cost difference if you lose one. With that said, since you custom make your own tackle, if it were me, I would go with the LPO spoons. Painter1
Thanks for the reply, Ted. I plan to order a couple DJ's just to compare the action but will get a dozen of the LPO''s and paint them up.
AKFerzy7
I bought some lpo "flutter' spoon blanks. They are too light for what i was planning to use them for. But i epoxied two on top of each other and love them now.
