bass01
Does anybody know if the powder to keep the molds separated when vulcanizing is just Talcum Baby Powder ? I thought I had heard that? Thanks for the help
dlaery
Talcum Baby Powder might work but not the same. the powder I have, it is called industrial talc. no perfume like in baby powder. Some things in baby powder could mess up the mold. i don't know what the directions you have but I assume you have to heat the mold, unknown material in the baby powder could burn or ignite and mess up the mold. I am erring on the side of caution here.
toadfrog
I have used baby powder a lot on replica molds . Just powder it heavy then blow off the excess so that there are no visible lumps or anything as a precaution . Powder the part to be molded as well . Take your time those things are tricky download the proceedure and study it . Toss it around in your mind before you jump on it .

LimpNoodle
Make sure you get the talcum based powder. Some are corn starch based. Some are a mix.
