mark poulson
I'd like a recipe, if you have one. It's for soft plastic swimbaits.
Basseducer
Mark, That depends on how intense you want it to be. I use pearl powder and a pinch in 16 oz. of plastic makes a fairly transparent 4" swinbait. 1/2 a TSP in 16 oz. makes it opaque .
MonteSS
Clear plastic and lots of pearl powder. I also have 015 pearl flake I may add. It will yellow very easily so small batches and watch the heat.

mark poulson
Thanks. That's tomorrow's project, to pour up some pearl white swimbaits for the shad bite. Does adding the plain white keep the plastic from yellowing as fast? Edited September 24, 2015 by mark poulson

alsworms
Thanks. That's tomorrow's project, to pour up some pearl white swimbaits for the shad bite. Does adding the plain white keep the plastic from yellowing as fast? Mark.....I don't know about others, but I had more problems keeping plain white from yellowing. Didn't have near the trouble with pearl, but constant reheating of any white will yellow over time. Use small amounts and short bursts and you should be fine.

I love fishing white, but i HATE making it! Pearl powder on the wish list!
mark poulson
Success! You guys are the best! I used 1 cup BJ's soft plastic, added a drizzle of heat stabilizer, a tea spoon of kosher salt, a table spoon of Do-It weight additive, a tea spoon of BJ's pearl hilite, two drops of Bear's white, mixed them and cooked them and the white that came out is perfect. The hilite seemed to swirl a little when I was hand pouring it, but the baits came out great. Thank you all!
