basslane
Hey I am brand new to pouring plastics and just ordered the alumilite soft bait kit from makelure.com I didn't know if anyone had some tips for making my mold or for the worm pouring process in general. Thanks in advance
JRammit
Howdy! The makelure kit is a good choice for the creative minded! I take it you plan to design your own custom bait?? First is a decision between a one piece or two piece mold -One piece molds are almost fool proof, if your design can function with one flat side this is the way to go -Two piece molds produce fully round baits, but can be more complicated to engineer Not many things better than bringing your own idea to life and catching fish with it!!! basslane
How long would you suggest I let the mold cure before I start to pour plastics? I just poured the mold. Thanks
jonister
I would read the package, but usully i waint quite a long time, 24 hours on some. a good way to test if it is ready to come apart is if the left overs in the stir cup are cured. JRammit
If you mix the RTV correctly, it will cure in 24 hours.... If it doesn't cure in 24 hours, you mixed it wrong...... No worries, ive made that mistake.. Just check on it every day after work, eventully it will cure.... But next time follow the directions (ha ha!) Once it is solid, you can pour in it
