Titanium wire was mentioned in a tutorial I read. Where can you find this for use in spinnerbaits? AND...these commercial looking spinnerbaits that have the wire running into the lead, and the hook coming out the back. Is this wire/hook one continuous piece? If not, are the two pieces linked inside the lead? How do most of you pros do this??? Thanks again.

finlander, as far as titanium wire goes, there is a patent on spinnerbaits with titanium wire (Terminator Lures) and most of us do not mess with it because of that reason. Most luremaking suppliers used to carry titanium wire frames but stopped because of the reason above. As far as commercial spinnerbaits, all of them are made of two parts, the spinnerbait frame or the part you attach your line to and a hook which is attached to the end of the frame. The frame has a small u-bend at the end of it and it goes around the eye opening of the hook which keeps the hook and frame from seperating inside the mold. The frame assembly with hook are layed in a mold and lead is poured around it. Hope this gives you an idea how the are made.

if you never mess with titanium,I wouldn't. unless you know what you are doing. it tough to mess with and getting it right is a pain in the a$$. the frame wire are a buck each with no room for error. stick with the wire for now. you can also order them pre made. just paint add blades and a skirt and your done. really simple. good luck!!

Thanks guys. I thinj I may have asked the question before of how the wire and hook were attached inside the lead head but it was never answered. Anyone know of any sites with tutorials on making them? I did see the one that had mentioned titanium, but I seem to remember one that went into greater detail. Any ideas?
