Tom Stinson
Im in the process of making bucktail vises for holding coil spring. I ve gotten a few from LPO but curious where others get the coil from. Who else sells bucktail coils for tying? I need a consistent inside diameter for what I'm trying to do. Thanks. BLT
I've seen people use throttle springs for lawn mowers and such. Cut to length the size you need. They used a bolt held into the vise, put the spring on, and then the nut on the bolt to hold it on. Seen people us rivots to tie hair on also. Even read of someone using those bicycle tire spoke holders to tie hair on.
budman
I get mine from work. I use the coil out of a wire feed welder whip. we replace them every couple of weeks and they're 20 feet long. find a local welding shop and see if they'll save them for you when they replace their whips. I have about 40 feet of them sitting on my desk right now, and the price is right...FREE. Edited October 21, 2015 by budman
