Painter1
I plan to make some 3.25" , 4" & 6" paddle tail Swimbaits to use mostly with weighted hooks. They will have a vertical slit/cavity, very similar to a fluke. The plan is to retrieve them at a slow to moderate speed. What hardness of plastic do you recommend? DaveMc1
Straight up Med has worked very well for me.

Painter1
Does using Soft or Super Soft kill the action?
Bass-Boys
soft has great action but will tear more when bit .
Painter1
Thank you for the help. I don't mind tearing them up so long as they get bit.
mark poulson
Sometimes too soft a plastic will make a bait whose tail section bends up too much from the pressure on the tail. Try straight medium first, and see if it will swim well. If not, you can always add softener.
