Stumped
Just wondering what guys like for their favorite creature bait mold is? I'm looking for something with curl tails but everyone and their cousin makes a brush hog.
rynesgto
My favorite is a brush hog mold. It's just too versatile of a fish catcher to ignore it. I have a mold on the big auction site that is like a brush hog without the little fins in front of the back tails. Similar to a brush hog, but different. Vodkaman
I know you are asking about existing baits, but I would like to expand your question and ask what creatures are missing or not represented well. I would like to see a video of a crustacean bait that actually swims like a craw/prawn/shrimp. Dave

Dave Id pitch the centipede here... I know there are some made, ive seen them on google, but never in stores.. Ive never used one either, but have a hard time believing a bass wouldnt hammer it! To the origional question, a creature bait would be a fun one to dream up! Plenty of room for imagination, and i cant see one out performing another given the typical method they are fished..... So my favorite would be in my head and not on a shelf

FATFLATTIE
Hate to repeat it but the BTS hog just flat out catches them. I know you don't wanna make a brush hog but they just flat out work. I have the full sized Berry Bug from Do-It and you almost need a truck battery to get that thing to fall haha. The smaller one may be better but I rarely use the one I have. It just won't fall quick enough.
Stumped
Wich BTS Hog are you referring to?
FATFLATTIE
The 4" one that looks just like the OG brush hog from Zoom. I have caught soooooo many fish on that lure this year and it is so very versatile. It is a good size to catch all size fish. I just love it and it just flat out catches them. I always have three quart bags full of black, watermelon, and green pumpkin hogs in my tackle bag. I have yet to figure out a scenario where they won't catch fish. Apdriver
FF, you mostly Texas rig them?
FATFLATTIE
Yeah mostly with a 1\4 or 3\8 tungsten and 3/0 super line hook. But I have used them on a shakey head, c-rig, and belly weight hook. There is no wrong way to fish them.
Apdriver
Yeah mostly with a 1\4 or 3\8 tungsten and 3/0 super line hook. But I have used them on a shakey head, c-rig, and belly weight hook. There is no wrong way to fish them. My fishing buddy fishes these quite often as we fish together. I will choose a different bait so the fish see something different. If the fishing gets tough, most times we'll throw something different. More times than not, he will catch more fish on that little 4" Brush hog than I will on anything else. Especially on those tough days. Wears me out with that little rascal.
FATFLATTIE
Yeah it is especially good when it is tough. I don't know exactly what it is about that bait that is so appealing to the fish but it is. The amount of times I have thoroughly worked an spot with moving baits and then a jig or worm and had nothing and then caught one on the first cast with the hog, it makes me believe there is some kinda extra appeal to that bait. Stumped
I was actually looking at one of Bob's creatures. Its similar to a hog bait but the appendages are different.
rynesgto
Check the big auction site every so often. I gotten some good deals and even a few molds that I have never seen for sale before. Sometimes I have to buy a lot of 4, but then I just sell the ones I don't want. rynesgto
I got 4 molds from BTS for under $100, sold the two I didn't want for $40 each. So I got the two molds I wanted for $10 each
