Apdriver
You want silicone tabs?
cadman
Silicone tabs with the biggest selection, would be fishingskirts.com. Also you can't beat their prices when you buy bulk.

Apdriver
I buy from Rattrap bait company. Bubba Robinson is the proprietor. 863/967-2148. Ask Bubba to email you his tab list. His email is rattrap2@verizon.net. I think his minimum is 100 tabs. No website or pics of product though. Good prices and friendly service. Painter1
I have bought from Bubba, but since he has no pictures it is easy to order colors that are not quite what you are expecting. I will stick to fishingskirts.com in future.
dchance
I have shifted to using more living rubber than silicone. anybody else. the action in the water is so much better.
Basseducer
The only thing I don't like about rubber is that it melts into a glob after awhile especially if you use scents.
Walking Dead
talc or baby powder helps but that means another step to keep up with on the skirts. I have no clue what they put in that stuff but it does have a reaction with many other materials. Cannot beat that action under water though. smalljaw
Yes, rubber melts, it has to be stored dry and by itself with an unscented talc dusting. The reason for the talc is that the rubber will get soft if stored for a long time and the strands will stick to each other and kink and basically become a matted mess. The talc keeps them from sticking together and also absorbs a tiny bit of moisture which isn't good either. I don't think the action of rubber is better, I say it is different, it is a little more buoyant and separates faster in the water but it is due to it being round rather than the material. If you ever saw the "Tarantula" rubber or flatline rubber now sold, it behaves a lot like silicone but the movement is exaggerated because of how wide the strands are. There is a product called "Bio-Silk" and the only place I know that carries it is Lure Parts Online, it is silicone and it comes in tabs just like the normal stuff we use, but it has the feel of rubber and has the buoyancy and quick separation or rubber but it needs no special treatment because it is silicone, it might be worth your time and money to try it out. Derek when you and the other guys are referring to living rubber, are you referring to the old style of living rubber I remember or are you guys talking about the round silicone type of rubber available at Jann's and Lure Parts on Line? I thought the old style of rubber skirting was long gone due to rubber rot. I would just like some clarification as I see this mentioned on a lot of fishing sites? cadman
So my question still is this. Is this considered living rubber? cadman
Thanks for the info. I always thought that, that was rubber and silicone mixed together. Good to know.
macstackleman
Cadman, that is the round living rubber. The old school rubber is square. The round and square are two different creatures in the water, but made from same material! I have purchased the new square living rubber and I am having trouble separating the strands! The old stuff would come apart nicely when stretched and cut holding scissors on a angle. New stuff seems rubbery and won't separate very easy. Pull harder breaks the strands. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks
