mark poulson
Adding soda blasting compound, instead of the sand blasting compound, does the same thing, only it makes a useless foam. Don't ask me how I know.
Vodkaman
Mark - By soda, I presume you are talking about a baking soda, sodium bicarbonate type formula/product. This reacts vigorously with any acid. The plastic obviously has an acid content as part of its make-up. Dave
mark poulson
Dave, you are soooo right. When I opened the microwave I was shocked. It looked like the Blob coming out of the melting cup.
Basseducer
Should make a good floating bait.

Painter1
I think that power bait stuff is water based. Water of any sort does not seem to play well with hot plastisol.

Yup.......sure is. One of the hardest lessons I ever learned!
joelhains
Yes it must be water based. Not nearly as dramatic a reaction thankfully. It could have very easily popped or exploded more violently than just the slow bubble.
Vodkaman
The beauty of water based is that it will infuse into the water, whereas oil based flavors will tend to repel. I see little point in locking up the flavor inside the plastic. Better as a dip before each throw. I guess during the actual bite, that the fish will get a taste that may encourage hanging on that bit longer. Dave
mark poulson
Will a salted plastic bait absorb water-based scents?
