Groucho
will the water soluble scents like Pro Cure absorb into plastic baits like the oil base scents. Whats the pros and cons. Thanks
alsworms
Nope. Anything water based or water soluble has a good chance of exploding in your plastic. Don't do it!
Groucho
I should have expanded on this I didn't want to put it in the plastics in the heating process but put it in the storage bag with the plastics. I should have clarified better. Will it absorb in the bag with the plastics.
Groucho
Nobody has ever tried this before? To me it sounds like a good idea. Any thoughts?
Travis
Yes guys store plastics in water based scents all the time. If you add a little salt to the plastic you will add a "vehicle" to help transport that scent into the bait.
alsworms
Sorry......misunderstood, and Travis nailed it. Adding after the fact should not be a problem.
Groucho
No I didn't explain myself. Is there any other companies that make water soluble scents other than Pro Cure? Are there any drawbacks to this.
JRammit
Gulp is water soluble... They sell the scent seperate in their "recharge kit" I liked the gulp baits a lot before i started making my own... But i hadn't considered using their formula on my baits til just now...... Hmmmm??? Groucho
I didn't know u could get gulp scent separately . I've use gulp in Florida for 6 or 7 years now and used the gulp shrimp with great success. That's what I'm trying to duplicate the shrimp and the white bait. I'll look it up.
