sticky
Does anyone have a good recipe for a pearl silver? I've played around with it but can't get it right. Any help would be appreciated
Frank
This may sound funny but the best silver I have seen is from MF and it is a liquid. I have pearls too but they always seem to be a bit mottly if that makes sense. There's is made from a powder too as it does settle a good amount.
Cami
Dear Frank, have you ever directly tried with the metallic silver powder from art crafts? If yes, which results did you obtain, please? I am talking about to directly use pure pigments. I am trying to re create the Sardine texture. Bye. Frank
I have tried silver powder from lure craft and Spikeit. The results were not a smooth even looking silver. They had streaks of color with light and dark shadows going from head to tail. Thinking about it now I was probably using what to much of the powder. Was going to say, I just made some with silver powder from spike it, they came out looking a little better than the liquid from MF. I have been using MF's liquid for the last few years. patrick reif
I just take a butt load of pearl powder and add a few drops of black to it until I reach the shade I want. In my shop "butt load" is an actual measurement. If I had to guess, I think it's 1/2 teaspoon to one cup plastic. It does make a fairly convincing silver
