emptystringer81
Well I finally talked the wife into letting me pull the trigger on a twin injector lol. Just ordered it from bass tackle, the 3 oz. Is there anything i need to know about doing laminates with this? Ive watched videos on how they do it. Cant wait to try it out, hope it works ok with my 702 2 cavity mold, If not im sure it will work on my stick bait molds. FATFLATTIE
I just bought the little blending block from Bass Tackle and an extra 4oz injector from Do-It since I already had one. Works ok but that unit you have should eliminate most of my problems. I have a hard time getting the two injectors to start at the same time and keep both injecting evenly throughout. Basically there are just gonna be some "bad" baits the way I have to do it. Your setup shouldn't have any of those issues. I like to use the screws/bolts that come with the mold to clamp them that way I don't have to worry about pressing too hard and blowing out the mold. For some reason I seem to press a lot harder when I'm doing the laminates like that.

Driftwood
Montessori has the fight idea. You shouldn't have any problems getting some good baits.
archery1
them bass tackle injectors are thick walled compared to most other ones. Try to keep it warm and it should'nt clog up. i LIKE THAT PIC Nice simple design monte . keep ur injectors oiled up so they draw smooth and keep both temps very close and u shouldnt have a problem. Good luck Fat flattie get a piece of round alum. drill an tap it and build that top bar and u should cure the injectors not starting at same time. Apdriver
You will have a bit of a learning curve starting out. I agree with Archery1 in heating your injectors up so they won't clog. That's the biggest problem I have with mine. The 702 2 cavity laminates nicely with very little waste with its small runner. If you shoot it too hot the end of the claws will tend to dent a little. I just throw those in the bag too as my bass don't seem to mind☺️

Saugerman
Montess, may have a cheaper place to buy from, but I got mine off ebay. There are some on there now, around 6 dollars or soo. They are norpro silicone cups. Hope this helps.
Apdriver
Build this Bill, that's just unamerican! You gotta spend way more money for something like that.
emptystringer81
Build this you built those brackets? that looks great, just like the one I got kinda, I don't see why its giving you trouble tho. I was thinking about buying just an extra injector and divider block because I already have a 3 oz BT injector, But I think it was going to be close100 bucks just for those two items
emptystringer81
I had to go back to the bass tackle site and see whats the diff between yours and the BT unit, Im not sure what is on the top of the injector tube, I was thinking the injectors are the same as the single injectors you can buy? Apdriver
That is the BT injector. Monte built the wooden stand.
FATFLATTIE
I would like to also add that you heat the blending block prior to injecting.
MonteSS
Yes those are Norpro silicone cups from ebay. Get a size larger than the amount of plastic used. If you use 1 cup plastic, get the 2 cup cup. Never fill them more than halfway. Yes the jig I made make it easy to fill the injectors. Keep the blending block very warm. I heat mine in a toaster oven and lay the injectors on top of oven.
emptystringer81
Thanks for the help fellers
ipt
pretty simple to use, keep the temps the same and start the flow once you put the injectors into the blending block before you put the block into your molds.
emptystringer81
When y'all say make sure temps are the same how close they need to be, I've figured out it's very difficult to get them the same lol. They don't look bad but the edges are bleeding over a bit, wonder if plastic is too hot? I am putting divider block in toaster over like ten min or so at 200 degrees
emptystringer81
I need to shoot a small amount out of the divider block first before putting it into the mold?
Frank
Within ten degrees is the best. If they are mixing then lower the temp to about 300-310. This will give you good lines.
emptystringer81
I shot it at 315 and worked great thanks, just takes some getting used to, alot more steps but baits came out great.
