Theine
I'm looking at getting a new airbrush and was trying to use the search tool before going to the board here. However, I'm only getting 2 pages of results and none of them are about airbrush selection. I remember reading posts on here about different memebers set ups. Any thoughts on what I may be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Muskie Tamer
What do you have now? Can't go wrong with an iwata.

gone2long
Try the airbrush forum TABF you'll get top notch info there.
Goose77
There seem to be alot of decent airbrushes out there that perform overall well. Part of this will depend on how much money you want to spend. Also how big is the work? A big bait without alot of detail can use a bigger needle in the brush. Likewise, a smaller needle and a brush with a mac valve would be better for fine details. I do mainly flyfishing poppers [up to saltwater size], and get by pretty well with my Iwata HP-CS. Like Muskie said, these are nice tools, and readily available. At Hobby Lobby you can get a good airbrush [including Iwata] at a 40% discount any day of the week with their coupon. Good for you...getting new stuff is often fun. Cheers, Ed

Theine
Actually had a follow question. Any reason I couldn't use my portercable pancake compressor so long as I add the moister trap? Thanks
SW Lures
That compressor will work fine. Just get a oil separator also, a good regulator and a gauge that you can see easily. Try to get a gauge with the smallest increments possible. The regulator must be good enough to control the pressure as you need. You may find that mounting the gauge and regulator near you will be easier for you. You can also put a fine tuning regulator on the line also. I don't use them but some do.
