Jig Man
Do any of you guys use them? If so how has your service been? The reason I'm asking is last year I ordered 100 worm hooks in 4 sizes and they came one or two at a time. It took several weeks to get all of them. I thought it was a fluke so I ordered again as I don't need 1000s of worm hooks from Shorty's for my swing jigs. Today I got one size and was told the rest were on back order and would be shipped when they came in.
LimpNoodle
Capt. Hooks = Shorty's retail arm. It happens. If it's mission critical then call first.
Darkman
Agree with the two gents, most people get large quantities from them, they really do there best t get things out
Walking Dead
I have used both and some others and have to stay in front of my supply of hooks use in an effort to avoid the backorder issue. Happens occasionally with many.
nedyarb
Seems like the service has been slow lately!
Vodkaman
I wonder if this has anything to do with the Chinese fiscal crisis. Dave
BLT
Have the same issue some times with mustad and where I get them. I am understanding that it is a Mustad issue.
JBarlow
Mustad has not been as regular since they moved their office to Florida and the manufacturing to Asia. Eagle Claw is not fully staffed currently so they cannot run production at %100.
LimpNoodle
I've learned to stay ahead of my needs on things like hooks and forms. If you need 100 hooks then order 200. When you get into the second 100 order another 100 or 200.
nedyarb
Just an fyi, I placed an order on the 4th and recieved it on the 14th. So 10 days!
BLT
Just an fyi, I placed an order on the 4th and recieved it on the 14th. So 10 days! I waited 3 months for Mustad to get my kahle hooks to the dealer last year. Popular Flounder hook, but they should and do know that. I got my order when I was down to the last 100 or so. But like you, I order when I hit a certain point with inventory. When I hit my last box of 1000, I ordered. But you know what, there is no reason to take 3 months, other than poor management at the production factory.
nedyarb
I make lures for myself only, so Im not overly concerned about having hooks in stock, or with blazing fast delivery. For me this is just a hobby. I do live in Nebraska so if possible I order from Zeiner's, simply because I get my order in two days 90 % of the time. The last order from Capt hooks was for 3 types of hooks, all common eagle claw hooks, not mustads. And it took 10 days. If it seems like I am bashing captainhooks I apologize, just stating my experiences Ive had recently.
BLT
Ordered a few 1000 from Shortys Friday, we will see how long it takes.

I get a lot of molds from Zeiners, and I live way over in Pa. and get them promptly.
