tweinz
I ve been making 60 degree finesse jigs with out weed guard for small mouth, but Ive been using the mold that takes a weed guard. It works but is a pain in the ass. Anyone else use a weedless football mold with out the weed guard or pins. This is the only mold that gives me a hard time getting a clean pour. I use mustad 32786 bln as the mold says to use.
jiggy
Have you tried cutting a little off the pins? That's what I'm going to do on my arky head mold to make chatterbaits.
tweinz
I dont use the pin. This way I don't have the weed guard hole in the jig. I trim the lead off that goes in the weed guard spot and then smooth it over.
Apdriver
I use a Teflon pin and pull it back to where it is even with the cavity so the lead won't run into the weed guard slot. You can also take a razor blade and cut the angle of the end of the pin just so where it will lay in flush with the cavity. Really no trimming if you do it correctly.

Basseducer
You can also put a rubber skirt collar in the weedguard slot even with the edge of the cavity. The collar will conform to the slot and keep the lead out.

DaBehr
I do what Jiggly suggested. I slowly grind off the bottom of the aluminum pins with my Dremel until they are flush to the body. I organize my collection of pins in a small Plano box.
