Gulp-Oil Scent Absorption Project

Recommended Posts

Thought I would do a project using bead media and salt  with scents and gulp to see which absorbed the most in a 3 week period. I weighted each stik bait at the beginning and for 3 weeks intervals. Using 4 ozs. of 552 plastisol with 1.5 tsp of stabilizer and 3 TBS of bead material or Salt.

Bead Mat. with Oil scent

starting weight:  11.52

Week 1              11.75    difference  .23

Week 2              11.94     difference .19

week 3               12.03    difference.09     Total  .54

Bead mat. with Gulp

Starting weight   11.73

week 1                11.76    difference  .03

week 2                11.78    difference  .02

week 3                 11.78    difference  0     Total  .05

Salt with oil scent

Starting weight    11.32

week 1                 11.38    difference  .06

week 2                 11.58    difference  .20

week 3                  11.60   difference  .02   Total  .28

Salt with Gulp

Starting weight    11.36

week 1                 11.50   difference  .14

week 2                11.73    difference  .23

week 3                11.88    difference  .15    Total .52

The stik bait with salt and Gulp started to get ragged on the edges where the stik bait  was being  broken down by the gulp.

All baits were totally covered for max. absorption all the time

Don't know if this will help anyone. It did me. I was a little surprised about the bead and scent.

Oil scent was Upper Hand

Bead material was Harbor Freight 80 grit

Hope calculations are right
