roberdober
I'm new making soft plastics. I was with the wife at the hobby store and saw the large selection of glitters. Different sizes shapes. Is that relatively the same glitter i see on tackle suppy venders websites . Is there any concerns such as fouling your injector or molds? Also the closest thing I found for colorants was a fabric dye that was pretty generic on ingredient listing but said it was good for natural fibers and some synthetic. MuskyGary
Depends on the heat tolerance. Remember your plastic is up around 350 degrees. Some glitter will melt and glob up. Better to use the stuff made for plastics. On another note, I have been using powder paint in my plastic to get some neat colors; like magic craw, reptile, black green pearl, new penny, etc. The trick ia to mix it in your cold plastic before warming it up. roberdober
Interesting. I would not have thought of that, but will definitely try it.
walleyeking
Some of the glitter will work but much off it will bleed. I've tried a lot and most of it works great it's just not always easy to find the sizes you want. As far as the clothes dye it works but I'm thinking it will bleed also. Powder paint works and many pearl pigments work. For the best control of colors I would just order some plastic colorant from one of the suppliers. I like Do-it X2 colorant a lot and I know many use m-f. Really you can experiment with anything as long as it's not water based you should be ok. mark poulson
If you're into experimenting, fine. If you want to just pour baits successfully, use Bait Junky's stuff.
