Mr B
Is anyone using the Do-it Brush Jig in the larger sizes for flipping? Looking for a mold with 3/4 and 1oz sizes that will be good for weeds/punching but also double for deep trees, hence my thought of the Brush Jig. I do not want a Cone-Shaped head because these have a tendency to fall over on their side once on the bottom and also when coming up through trees. I love my Arkie mold as a Versatile head but they only go up to 1/2oz. Would love a 3/4 & 1 oz Arkie mold. What are your thoughts?
Walking Dead
Yeah I have it and use it. Modified one mold for a screw lock. May want to look at those née mag Howell shaky heads, using a strong hook. Very similar head and 1 1/4 ouncers!
smalljaw
I understand what you want to do but a stand up design is worthless flipping unless you are doing something different than most. When I flip, which isn't a whole lot where I live, I flip my jig into the brush and when it hits the bottom I shake it up and down 2 or 3 times and then on to the next hole to flip into. I think most anglers do it that way so that is why a bullet shaped head works so well, I never saw anyone flip and then let the jig sit on the bottom, your just too close and the fish hit on the fall, it is a reaction strike. I don't punch but I was taught it by a friend who punches pads, pretty much the same deal but most use punch skirts with a soft plastic rigged under it because most jigs hang up in cover that thick. For what you want to do is 2 different jigs for me, for flipping I like the 5/8oz Snootie and for deep cover I like the Brush jig but if I needed a heavy jig and I flipped the way you do, I'd look at the 3/4oz or 1oz Poison Tail with a Mustad 32886 round bend hook, that would be just as versatile as the Arky in a heavier size.

Mr B
Thanks for the reply Small jaw. I understand where you are coming from, however I have some situations where what I am asking for applies which is why I am asking if the Brush jig works well for flipping. I already have the Bullet Jig and Poison Tail Jig. A big Arkie would be nice too. Anyone know if someone sells an Arkie mold w/ 3/4 & 1oz sizes? I have not been able to fine one. Mr B
Thanks Bassducer. I know at least 1 place that sells a preformed 3/4 and 1oz Arkie. I might have to get a few and make my own mold. Would rather not though.
