Gagher2death
I'm new to pouring and was wondering do you add color before heating or after
alsworms
All the fluorescent colors must be added before heating or they won't take. You'll end up with a messy clump of crap if you don't. Other than those, it's basically your preference. Eventually, I got to the point where I added ALL my colors to cold plastic before pouring. Easier that way.......for me, anyway. Then all you have to worry about is pouring!

Driftwood
We mix our color to the plastic before heating. It's easier for us to pour what we need as we mix 1 gal at a time of our best colors.
JRammit
If you already have your recipe, its quicker and easier to mix before... Then its just heat and pour But if youre mixing a new color, its easier to do after, when the plastic is clear
MuskyGary
Like all has said, It's easier to get into the habit of mixing color before heating. Now glitter I like to add after heating. Just the habits I got into.
Slammingjack
Same thing colorant/ powder in cold plastic. If it's a new color you can do it in cold, just remember it will be lighter when it turns over. Always write down how many drops it takes to get that color again. I always put glitter in when it's ready to pour. Some glitter like LC minnow silver don't like being microwaved. Oh yeah BTW write down where you got the color from. colorant from different vendors are not the same.
