1/2 Oz 60 Degree Tube Jig Mold.

Recommended Posts

The only way you'll get a mold like that is to modify an existing mold. What size hook are you looking at using and what size tube? The reason I'm asking is because you can use a round head mold, I will sometimes  use my weedless round head mold that takes 60 degree flat eye hooks and pour a 1/4oz with a 3/0 hook for a 4" tube, I'd just make it without a weed guard. The problem is when you get to heavy weights like 1/2oz, the round head becomes too large and it stretches out the tube. If you want a heavy hook which I assume you want, I'd look at the heavy hook model tear drop mold and they also have a regular hook tear drop mold so it depends on what hook you are using. The way to modify it is simple, lay the hook you want to use into the cavity and close the mold tightly and strike it with a hammer, this will cause an indent where the hook eye will be. When you have that indent simply drill that area out with the size drill bit that fits the hook eye, do a little at a time until the mold closes. If the hook slot needs to be widened a little, simply use a needle file and take a little off each side, 3 strokes on each side and try it and repeat until it fits. I know you probably don't have the time to do this but it is the only choice you have unless you want to spend a lot because it would need to be custom as nobody make a tube mold that heavy.
