Has any one made one out of TIG wire? Apdriver Posted March 1, 2016 Report Share Posted March 1, 2016 I have made and fished a bunch of them. I like the American Fishing Wire #18 which is a .041 wire. Of course, there are other components that go into making a "umbrella rig". Several ways to go about it and I prefer the willowleafs on my wires. You need a head for the wires and a closed loop on the end of those wires. Even with .041 wire, you will be bending and tweaking those wires back out through the day.
