Walking Dead
For a reference there are videos on youtube that Do-t posted that helps. Also other forums like baitjunky's have threads at the top that talk about safety items you will require.

alsworms
Softener, heat stabilizer, thermometer (both infrared and probe style), GLOVES, GLOVES, GLOVES, mask, eye wear, long pants, long sleeves, apron, and did I mention gloves? Wow.......this post made me realize just how stupid I was when I poured. I worked with shorts and a tank top, no eye wear, no respirator, no gloves, no long sleeves or pants, and no apron. And no gloves. Did I mention no gloves? LOL Things sure have changed!
JRammit
You forgot time... This hobby will consume most of it!.... If i didnt have to go to work, id never leave the shop! Safety items as mentioned above.. Cover your skin if you want to keep it! Dont forget some bags... You dont want to store soft plastic baits directly in your tackle box, they can warp the trays And worm oil or salt to keep baits from sticking together... DONT use cooking oil, it will harden the plastic Edited March 9, 2016 by JRammit

Well one of the only things I like better than fishing and making baits is ME! And I like me the way I am and I wanna keep me that way haha! I just want to make sure I stress saftey because I feel like it is by far the most important of doing this. You can get severely hurt doing this stuff and I have seen way too many videos of people (even unsupervised children) melting plastic with no saftey gear. Bassinfool
As has already been stressed, please be as safe as you possibly can when enjoying this hobby. As someone who has worked in an ER and now trauma and burn intensive care for 4 years the last thing you want is to be burned. You think you take your hands for granted now, try imagining 2nd or 3rd degree burns covering one of them. The grafting and recovery time alone is a several months long process with no guarantee that your hand will ever function at your pre burn level again. Please, please be safe guys! I'd love to meet some of my fellow hobbyists but not at my work!
