curtisb
Is lock tite gel glue good for fiber weed guards? Next question I am having to apply many 3-5 coats of vinyl Paint to get good coverage, is this normal for that paint? Or am I doing something wrong. I am brushing it on. Thanks
gone2long
If you mean loctite brand super glue gel then yes, it will occasionally leave a white residue after setup but its not a deal breaker for sure. As far as the vinyl you should always basecoat with white to get better results.
smalljaw
Yep, white base coat with vinyl paint, and you don't have to glue the weed guards in place, just cast the jig with weed guard in since you don't have to heat set or bake the finish on.
Skimpy
I used to use lock tite gel but it does leave a white residue. I use he 2 ton epoxy now and like it a lot better
mark poulson
I only get the white residue if I use the accelerant to speed up the glue set, or if it's really humid.
cadman
Put a fan on the weedguards, if you want to get rid of the white residue. The white stuff is the cyanoacrylate flashing off leaving the white powder.

Basseducer
The white residue is also the result of the fumes reacting to the amino acids in your body oil. Super glue fuming is a well accepted method of developing fingerprints.
