Do-It Herring Head Underspin!

Recommended Posts

Instead of dredging up the old thread I'll start a new one.

When I received the mold and my first batch of forms I could place the form in the mold so that the opening was towards the front.  Several other members were not able to do so.

I received a new batch of forms today and they will ONLY fit in the mold with the opening to the rear.  Seems it may not have been my mold but the forms.  Also the new batch of forms seem to be a bit heavier wire.  I'm going to have to get one of the old batch and my mic and check.

I was one of those members. Mine only fits one way. My wireform is (.040) diameter.  The only way the wire form would work in either direction, was if:

A..............The wire diameter was small enough to locate it in either direction.

B..............The location of the eyelet and the location of the wireform leg were center on center or in line on the bent wireform.

C..............The center of the eyelet eye and the center of the wireform leg on the mold halves were center on center or in line.

Items B and C would have to be done at the manufacturing level by Do-It.

I continue to buy them as they are. I'm not going to modify a mold and then buy custom wireforms to fit my modified mold.
