Chuck Young
You can pick up perfectly acceptable plastic sheets at Staples or any office supply store. Fellowes binding covers, midweight. Model # 52043. They form quickly, yet are plenty durable. 25 pack of 8-1/2 x 11 is $17. You can sometimes get 4 sets per sheet.

Chuck Young
Remember to wave the gun to spread the heat around. If you heat things up too much the lure blank will warp.

Bois d'Arc
Gallon plastic milk jugs. Cut the flat sides out, usually at least two per jug. Cheap, durable and easy to heat and mold. Been told some folks get a little coin for recycling the jugs so they might be scarce depending on where you live.
Stewy3
Hobby Lobby sells a clear plastic sheet in a two pack for 5 bucks, .015" made by K&S. its a PETG type of plastic that i have been using with good results. I made an aluminum frame that fits inside my toaster oven to heat it up and the vacuum box to match the dimensions of the frame. The frame keeps the plastic from curling. Works pretty good.
