TonyMurray
What is the trick to getting flakes to show up in black worms? TM
alsworms
Really depends on the flake. When I made black with red flake, I had the same problem. No matter how much flake I added, I couldn't see it like I wanted to. Solution for me? Lighten up the black. Make it more of a dark smoke.
FATFLATTIE
I don't have much of a problem but about the only flake I put in black is Carolina blue and silver. Both seem to show up pretty well unless I add some HDA to make stick baits, then I just add a little more flake. With the HDA even adding flake it still doesn't show up the best but that's unfortunately one of the qualities of that sinking additive. DaveMc1
Less black colorant will do the trick, I had to mess around for a while to get the formula I landed on. You want it to be just dark enough to call it black, that way the flake shows through good.

Long Lake Lures
I found that injecting senkos gave better flake surface presence than hand pouring- just an observation.

gone2long
Just lighten it up you'll never know once you add enough colorant to make black stop and add the flake the trick is just adding enough for a black then the flake will have a chance to be seen though the colorant. mark poulson
I add my flake first, both red and black, and then add my color, checking how dark it is and how much the flake shows as I go. The black flake will make a smokey black bait appear darker, but still let the red flake show.
