paiva
Any recommendation for any metal available on the market that is around 25% less dense then lead and a still good metal, or metal mix combination, that will be good for pouring jigs? thank you in advance
Vodkaman
60/40 solder has a density of 8.5g/cm3 which is roughly 25% less than lead. Here is a useful link. Dave
cadman
You can also use bismuth. There are different alloys available, or you can mix your own alloys to create your density that you want to use.
paiva
Thank you so much, both, for your reply. Do you know where I can buy them already mixed?

dan tinman
Tin is your best bet. 33% lighter than lead and melts at a much lower temperature. Only down side is it's expensive. Depending on how much you buy at a time it can run between $14 to $20 per pound. Scrap yards will sometimes have it at a much lower price.
