texacan84
Hello everyone. Been away from here for quite some time, looks like I've missed a lot of topics. It's good to be back on. My question is I've recently purchased some Anise oil for my baits. Was wondering if I should add it to my baits while mixing the plastisol for scent or after they are made before packaging and if I add it to the plastisol how much do I add or should I have bought something else? Any advise or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced....George
jbob
I always add scents just before bagging an a few drops to the bag tried adding while cooking but seem to me it just evaporated not leaving much of a scent after curing but this is just my 2 cents hope it helps
Walking Dead
After a few days of air curing., I put the into a glad ware type plastic container, add some drops and let them st in there a few days. You can also put the baits and oil in, snap the lid and give it a shake; bag.
texacan84
Thank you fellas. Had a feeling that adding the scent before bagging would be the answer but wasn't sure. Thanks again.
alsworms
I was always a fan of adding scent in the mix, but you have to be careful of the source. Who's anise are we talking about?
texacan84
Spike it Anise oil.

texacan84
I hear ya...lol..It's gonna be trial and error. From what I understand from LW is their plastisol has scent in it but can't really tell, I was wanting to add more to it but I'm at a loss. Maybe adding it at the end before packaging might be the answer. Also was wandering if it is slick enough to keep them from sticking to each other. Add it after, I have found over the years it has a far greater effect when added after the baits sit for a day or 3. Go to the dollar store and pick up a plastic tupperware bin, largest you can find. Put your baits in that bin and put some of the scent on them and shake it up. After that you are ready to put them in your plano trays or package them up. Had no problem adding LC or Pro Cure anise, but never used LW.
texacan84
Thank you. I will pick up some Tupper ware containers and give it a try. I will let you know how the LW Anise oil works in the containers. Just poured some baits a couple of days ago for a customer and getting ready to trim them here in a day or so, so that works out pretty good. Thanks again. archery1
I use the empty maxwell or folgers coffee containers. They work nice If you don't drink coffee maybe a relative does? You can buy anise essential oil and add it to worm oil to make your own scents also.

Btw, I do drink coffee and thats not a bad idea as well. Mark? I'm about 2,000 miles away but thank you anyway...
archery1
Empty coffee containers loose there smell pretty fast when adding baits into them.. Maybe the first time you load up baits into empty coffee container ,they might give off a coffee smell.. it wont last long though.
