School Master
I've been messing around with making some hardbaits out of resin. I am using Featherlite, and my problem is bubbles. I made a master, then made a RTV mold of that master. I get little bubbles in the top of the bait every time. Any chance anyone has a tip to help me get better baits out of the mold? Hughesy
You probably need to degas your resin in a vacuum chamber.
JRammit
A pic of the mold would help Ive never had any bubbles in a resin bait, i always make sure the sprue is at the highest point, and pour a thin stream allowing any air to escape thru the sprue rather than getting trapped inside the mold
School Master
I could be pouring too fast. I will throw up a picture when I get home.
token12
Hold your cup of resin above the mold to help pop any bubbles as you're pouring, thats one thing I do. I also mix until I start feeling the heat from the heat given from the reaction, then I pour. You can also look into doxy 5. It'll help eliminate any bubbles if you cannot degas the mix. http://www.theengineerguy.com/Doxy-5-Urethane-Degassing-Agent.html
