Very Dissapointed With Mf Plastic

Recommended Posts

Ordered 5 gallons of plastic and 5 quarts of colororant. The fluorescent orange was rock hard. Absolutely unusable. After calling the owner suggested we keep stirring it. Said it can harden up after a week or two of sitting. Refused to exchange or refund the product. Terrible service and I will be not be puchasing from him again. That's terrible because his product is normally great.

Not sure if comparing repackagers with company's that actually make there products is fair. But the guys from MF have been around for a long time and have made there product for a long time. Was the reason you wanted to return the product because it was bad or just you had to mix it? You must have had some experience with there colorant before and should have known it does settle a bit. The flouresents are to worst and need to be mixed every time you use it. I use one of there colors that's settles just put a few wing nuts in the bottle and shack it till they are free. Just the nature of the product. I am thinking if they did not want to take it back it was because it was not defective.

I tend to agree with Frank on this settling is par for the course, all these materials we deal with will do that you prolly got some that was not a best seller and has been on a shelf longer than most but it will come back with a little effort why should they pay to replace something that is doing what it is known to do and easily reconstituted?

This was settled rock hard and pretty much gone. Been purchasing from them for forever. No doubt there plastic is the best but this was unacceptable.

Yes I would agree normally but an hour to reconstitute with a drill with modified coat hanger wire is crazy. Plus the lurecraft that was ten years old I had to use was barely settled. Im looking to get a few drums for a new bait just to start but that's terrible not offer any solution.

I hear ya maybe he could of handled it better who knows, but just an FYI I got this cheap little mixer off of amazon if you notice it has several attachments but the one that stands out and works like a charm is the one with teeth it breaks up any solids pretty quickly. Works great for Airbrush paint as well. But note that was with 2-4oz bottles have not tried any bigger yet.

I'm doing my own pigments in Mexico, for this situation you can use a baking hand mixer, add some worm oil or softener to the hard rock pigment and mix for a long time.

After mix store your pigment in wide containers, butter containers work fine. Next time it will be easier to mix.

Thanks for the tip. I don't think I should end up having to do that when I purchased new product tnough.

After reading this I went out and checked the pint of flor orange I have and it to is settled on the bottom. Mixing it is not so easy with such a small opening. If it were me I would cut it open and put I a container with a bigger opening as mentioned before. Other brands don't settle that much but all the flor colors do. Beware of the thick one too they are hard to mix just because they are thick.

Jeff here at M-F, I talked to the boss man last week about this subject and it has nothing to do with the plastic, it was the flo orange and you didn't ask for a refund that we recall. I remember discussing this in a meeting but he did say not to trade it because it settles out immediately. All the flo colors except number 55 do or our 4 colors and didn't see a problem with 55. I will give you a refund no questions asked tomorrow. Expect to see a  credit in your account in a few days, sorry for your frustration as the guys above said like this colors a beast, I believe there's a shirt that says something of that effect.

K thanks@MF, Jeff

IMO MF has always been great people and more than willing to go out of their way to please the customer.  Once again, it looks like Jeff has done just that.  Therefore, I see no reason for this thread to continue.  In the future, I would recommend private resolutions before publicly slandering any company on a public board.  Thank you all for understanding.
