otisnc
Do you guys typically have a strong smell to your baits and does it dissipate after aging? Using spike-it soft pour a solid and smell of baits is stronger than I expected. Use microwave and check temperature with infared thermometer, so I know it isn't a overheat problem. Any suggestions, a scent, etc
Apdriver
Glad to have you on TU Otis. I try to let my baits cure for a few days, more if I can, and then bag with a little scent. I put 10 to 15 drops in a container with a lid, put my plastics in, and shake them to coat. Makes the bagging easier too.
Frank
It goes away. Way more concentrated just after pouring. Or maybe I got use to it.
otisnc
Thanks guys, didn't know if this was normal or excessive. Any difference with different brands of plastisol?
Jig Man
All of them that I have used stink. The fish don't seem to mind though.
RSNeely
Thanks guys, didn't know if this was normal or excessive. Any difference with different brands of plastisol? Oh yes, they are all different. Even in the cooking process. Some will smell more than others.
walleyeking
I've caught fish on plastic same day I poured them, so I don't worry about the smell. It does go away after awhile.
