The ones I've been using from the store (strike king, itsy bitsy minnow) are just fine for all sorts of pan fish. I've take a few bass with em too (nice surprise). But I've always had to modify the finish because my idea simply boosted everything from the power of each strike (it's unbelievable) and the amount of hook-ups (literally double... . Quadruple in some places. Let's put it this way.. .. . On many occasions I've had a hook-up on every other cast. It gets dern ridiculous. However the lures last 6 months of this abuse because they're not properly finished. Plus with the blank I can introduce my trick into the paint scheme that works the best. It's simple. No reason to get ridiculous for something so tiny. As soon as I get the first 5 done (I share with friends) I'll post the pics.
