Painter1
My wife uses a freeware/shareware program for cooking and baking recipes including cake decorating. She stores pictures, ingredients, instructions and notes. She can browse by looking at photos, recipe names, etc and the database has thousands of recipes, since they can be shared. I looked at it for use in making plastic baits but it is specialized for food ingredients and would be clunky at best for my purposes. The pile of notes I have compiled are useful, to a degree, but not as organized or searchable as I would like. Do any of you guys know of a Program that fits the bill? gone2long
I know back in the early days guys made spread sheets but they never seemed to compile from all the sources, i.e. they didn't seem to cross over from all the forums they seemed to stay within the group, not sure if anyone has followed up on it I haven't seen anything as of late. Highlander
Painter, I am not sure if this is the sort of thing that you are looking for, but I happened across it on you tube some months back.
Painter1
I think a critical aspect of the record keeping is photos or a physical sample. I'm sure someone is using a FileMaker Pro, MS Access, SQL or Dbase program either for this or something similar. I'm not looking to copy their data but would be willing to pay for the program. Painter1
use google keep. done deal BOOOM !! I had never heard of it but just checked it out and it looks perfect. 1.) Downloaded from the App Store onto my IPad 2.) opened the App and it recognized me via gmail account 3.) made a new "Label" called "Bait Recipes" 4.) added a note with a recipe and description plus warning about reheat tendency. 5.) selected options & chose "take photo" 6.) took a photo & selected "yes" when asked "use photo?" And it is FREE! And easily shareable, with picture. Thank you, Sir. This could be a truly useful tool for next-era cookbook sharing.

Painter1
If someone would tell me how to attach one of these notes/files we could share?
RSNeely
Excel for me! I have a few different books saved in one file. I also will keep a sample on hand when doing custom work. Just to have for future reference. I'm still very new to pouring plastics and so far this system seems to work well for me. No disrespect to Microsoft but I'm really happy with this Google keep free app. I can make a note, snap a picture and send the thing. To edit, just open it and start writing, or add another picture. Now also using it for property maintenance. Guy on site can send me a note with picture even if he has a different type phone. I can keep the notes organized easily too. This site has some great folks with good ideas - worth every penny I pay in dues;)
