barr5150
Yes, this stuff isn't like Dick nites. Dripping back into the jar does introduce more bubbles in the mix though.
goolies
I have been using a vacuum seal canister for about 10 months for storing my KBS. I mixed 1 qt. of KBS with 6 fl. oz. of Xylene and I have not had any problems with it curing in the canister. There are a bunch of vacuum seal canisters out there. This is the one I have been using. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A1B46IO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
dpalinsk
Has anyone tried the aerosol spray can KBS Diamond Clear? I'm working on some 9" wood lures and thinking about using it as a seal coat before painting and top coating. 21xdc
No, But I'm interested in your findings. I got excited whan I first saw it as I wont run KBS through my airbrush's. There are some times when I could use this.
dpalinsk
I was unable to order the KBS Diamond Clear aerosol so I contacted KBS and this is the response I received. "Thank you for contacting the KBS Coatings. Our goal is to give you the best possible KBS experience that exceeds your expectations. I am sorry for the confusion. DiamondFinish Clear in the Aerosol will be available within a few weeks and we will send out an email as soon as it is available." I'll order some up once it's available. mythos
Off topic, but how do you guys transfer the clear from the KBS container to a mason jar? Just curious if the transfer created any bubbles. Thx.
SW Lures
I have heard that LPO is now carrying KBS. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet. Aerosol would be good to have around to. Those times when I don't want to start a gun/brush spraying, dipping or brushing process. Yep, I'm trying to figure out the way I like putting it on. Keep us informed on your progress David. Mythos, I just started using KBS. I just let it drain slowly, then I thin it, shoot a little Oxygen (name eludes me) and let it set for a few days. dpalinsk
KBS notified me today that the aerosol version was now available. I placed my order today along with 4oz can to test out brushing on the product as well. Will post up as soon as I have tried it out. GrindStoneLures
So I got a pint just the today of kbs and put 2/3 of it in a mason jar an added the xeylene 1/3 to the mason jar and dipped the lure in it. Didn't seem like there was a difference to me so I shook it an now it's cloudy So tomorrow I'll take the lid of the mason jar an see what happens

dpalinsk
KBS has a customer referral program. If you use the link below, you'll get a 15% discount which lowers the cost to about $17. In the interest of full disclosure, I get a $10 off credit. http://kbscoatings.refr.cc/S5LZGPP David
GrindStoneLures
So all went well if you dilute it 20-30% then do atleast two dips. I haven't don't any testing so far to see durability but 24hrs it still feels none cured

gliders
Would there be any benefit using kbs or such like as final coats over e-tex on wood lures in terms of durability/hook rash damage ?
Nathan
I really don't see any benefit of using KBS over Etex.Etex is good stuff on it's own..Nathan
ravenlures
I just received my aerosol can of KBS Diamond, just tried it with one coat and it was better than dipping, how it holds is another story I am running out of time to test getting cold here in Northeast WI. It was costly with shipping, but now do I mix and spray, spraying I will need to upgrade my spray booth. Wayne
ravenlures
I would not use the spray unless you have a commercial spray booth and proper mask, it works great on the lure but I don't have a good enough of a booth I will only use outside in the summer. End of that. Wayne
