Painter1
Yes, I think they look great but have had trouble with them becoming stiff and deformed in about a year.
mark poulson
Yes, I think they look great but have had trouble with them becoming stiff and deformed in about a year. Will the round rubber they sell do the same thing? Over the years, I've had lot of jigs and spinnerbaits with rubber skirts melt onto themselves. Is there some way to prevent this? Walking Dead
Mark, I scented talc powder helps to prevent the melting.

Painter1
I should add that the jigs referenced were not well taken care of by me. They were the ones left out, stuck into the foam "jig hangers" on the boat. Stored properly, they age much better. The silicone skirts withstand this abuse pretty well. Just don't leave an Elaztech trailer on, lol.
RayburnGuy
Not 100% sure, but I think rubber sticking to itself is just a characteristic of rubber. Some of us are old enough to remember the red bicycle inner tubes that were sold many years ago. They came in a paper box and were dusted with what I believe was talcum powder to keep the inner tube from sticking to itself. Ben

Yes, it'll do the same thing, use some talc on them when dry and they'll be fine. I remember in the old days when you were done you would swing the jig around your head to dry them. Good way to find out if your knots are any good. Rodney
mark poulson
Thanks to all my friends here on TU, I now have a plano box full of white jigs!
Brent R
You can also use the talc powder on frogs. Put it on the frog and the skirt. I have some frogs that are old and still work good. OH don't for get that you can also put it on spinnerbaits. JMO
