Mf Plastic Question

Recommended Posts

As Ive used MF for years I have a question with an observation....

After baits are made for about a year old they are oily but more so of what Ive noticed they take on a plastic chemical smell and also seem much more firm then they're original softness from before.

Is this something you guys have noticed?

I don't like that the firmness seems to change and also takes on a chemical smell to them

Again these are on baits that were produced over a 8 months ago but less than 2 yrs old.

Thanks for any input!

Sorry to hear that, it may have something to do with certain heating microwave methods, cheap bags and adding either spike it or lurecraft scents or colors, something is not jiving. Trust me I have been testing poured baits for 5 years, I have had baits in every Texas climate with 8-24 months being a long test. I have seen many brands turn foggy, exude, turn like cracked ice looking, turn mushy and yellow. EDIT HERE some mics are tough on plastisols (ours) being inclosed for 24 months is a long time to not use or sale baits. As far as getting harder over years I do say after a week I see it firm up but not seen that after 2 years. Then another thought is being phthalate-free while others are not then new code or laws may have made stabilization an issue. Not sure.

I do take phone calls as said above, jeff@mf
