RSullivan
Boy, do I hate putting eyes on swim baits and jerk baits. I hate it so much I refuse to do it! But it does look really cool! The worse part about it (for me) is heating small amounts of clear plastisol to dip he bait in to seal the eyes. So:1.) Is there such a thing as stick on eyes that will stay on without applying a coating of clear? 2.) Has anyone tried clear Plasti-Dip? (https://plastidip.com/). If this works at least I would not need to continually heat up plastisol. BTW, I am off fishing the next 5 days or so (no internet) so do not think I am rude if I do not participate in any conversations that may occur on this thread for awhile. Frank
Get the PVC eyes from Spikeit and the glue. Put a dot of glue and stick on the eyes. Done.
Cami
I'm quite sure that Plastidip and Plastisol are enemies. Plastidip is very similar to Plastivel and about this one I'm completely sure that it's better don't leave an hard bait covevered with Plastivel close a Plastisol Soft Bait: they dissolve each other. mark poulson
I tried plastidip clear to get a matte finish on a glide bait I made, and the stuff melted when it lay in contact with a plastic worm overnight.
MonteSS
So exactly what 5mm eyes do I need to get and what glue. I have some 3d eyes (stick on that dont stick) and mend-it and it didnt work. I checked the Spike-it eyes and glue. Very expensive and gluein quarts only. PVC glue https://www.ispikeit.com/store/p-606-pvc-glue-4848.aspx Edited September 18, 2016 by MonteSS
DaveMc1
wrong glue LOL, 1/4" eyes are 4.99/100 and get the fix a lure glue. the eyes are made out of soft plastic. Mend it (probably the same as the fix a lure glue) will work just as good. Edited September 18, 2016 by DaveMc1

McLuvin175
I checked the Spike-it eyes and glue. Very expensive and gluein quarts only. For small jobs use this ----------> http://www.ispikeit.com/Store/c-96-fix-a-lure-glue.aspx If your ordering just eyes they can mail them. But the glue like Fix-A-Lure or VPI Glue are flammable and must be shipped ground.
