Painter1
I have this Benchtop Skirt Making Tool and have a devil of a time keeping track of the pointed piece used to stretch the skirt bands into place. Any ideas on where/how to store this part with the base unit? http://www.barlowstackle.com/Production-Skirt-Tool-Bench-Mount-P2592.aspx
Apdriver
Put it in a small bait bag. Say 3X3, and Then rubber band it to the end when you are finished before you store the tool. That's an easy solution. Another is to get a block of material, I'm thinking hickory but you could use HDPE or other man made material, drill it so the point would slip into the hole and then plug it. Attach this to your tool.
Painter1
I like that wooden block idea. Thanks. Beats duct tape I'm currently using.
AZ Fisher
I would drill a hole on the left side of the base that the non-pointed end could fit snugly into. I have done that with similar tools with small components, keeps them all together and in view for easy access. My .02
mark poulson
I have this Naked Baits skirt tool. I don't think it's made anymore, but it is easy to use.
stretcher66
to bad the piece is made from aluminum, and not steel or you could mount a rare earth magnet on your workbench or the wall above it and just stick it there. this is how i keep track of the chuck key for my drill press. smalljaw
Take some super glue and attach some hook and loop material and when finished you can simply Velcro the cone down and it will always be attached to the unit.

Painter1
http://www.barlowstackle.com/Pro-Skirt-Tool--P815.aspx How well does this model work versus others? It looks like you may be able to manipulate the strands better?

You don't have to mount it-simply set it on top of your work bench. You can break the collars if you expand too far. I load the multi color tabs and pull through the opening w/ tweezers
