mjs
Jighead inserts are slipping too easily, and bond coat seems perfect, but the shipping is giving me pause. Before I bite the bullet are there substitutes at the hardware store to coat lead to help the plastic adhere better? Superglue, epoxy, pvc glue...? DaveMc1
Not really. That bond coat will freaking bond to the plastic alright
Painter1
Devcon epoxy with half to 2/3 the required hardener will leave the lead sticky and substantially protected from oxidation.
Apdriver
Just looked at the description on their website. Says it's good for bonding layers of plastic for hand pouring. I'm thinking it may be a solution to bonding tip molds I've been having problems with. Anybody try this?

Apdriver
Yup, if it gets in your mold at all good luck getting the baits out. Hmmm. Any good technique here, Dave? Gotta put the tips back in the full mold to shoot. Can you dip or brush the tips at the joint and let dry then put them in the mold, shoot the body and still get enhanced adhesion or does this product need to be wet when shot? It does take awhile to dry but you can make a bunch coat them and let them set. Never had it stick to any of my molds but I let it dry first. B Neagle
Spike-it shipping cost has keep me from ordering from them. They say you can call them and they will change the shipping. I feel you shouldn't have to do that. It's like if they are stupid let's rip them off.
bryanmc
Spike-it shipping cost has keep me from ordering from them. They say you can call them and they will change the shipping. I feel you shouldn't have to do that. It's like if they are stupid let's rip them off. It's because some of the things they sell can't be shipped priority flat rate and people tend to mix in items that can and can't be shipped that way. A quick call gets your order reviewed and shipped however is cheapest. Edited October 28, 2016 by bryanmc

I believe the shipping calculator is ups's so they plug in the weights of there product and ups figures the price. They have a great crew there that does answer the phone and can take care of it fast.
B Neagle
$15.79 for 1oz yeah that seems fair. Would think it wouldn't be that hard to get web site to separate hazardous from not hazardous.

I don't think this stuff needs to be handled with great care it is water based. 15.79 seems pretty much standard to me being across the country and all. If you call them I believe they will even ship it usps which is not an option on there site I don't believe. The post office is just across the parking lot from them.
