porkmeatballs
The spray is very easy to use, but I think that in order to get a coat that's as strong as epoxy, you'll need to spray your bait quite a few times. When I sprayed one coat of KBS, I could barely tell that there was any clear coat on my bait...
mark poulson
Just keep adding more thin layers.
porkmeatballs
Here's a question related to the KBS clear coats: How do I get rid of the smell? After spraying my bait, it smelled kind of toxic. Should I just swim it a few times to get the smell off?

Water will not remove the solvent or the solvent smell.
porkmeatballs
Has anyone tried krylon clear enamel spray? It's a lot cheaper than other clear coats... https://www.amazon.com/Krylon-Colormaster-Crystal-Clear-Acrylic/dp/B0009X8LZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1509928560&sr=8-1&keywords=krylon+clear+enamel&dpID=41art2KZkAL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch

At that time, the clears yellowed over time. My recent experience with rattle can clear acrylics is that they work, but they need to be separated from all soft plastic baits. I'm currently using Rustoleum X2 High Gloss. It is really durable, doesn't seem to diminish the shine of metallic paints, and is easy to spray onto lures in multiple thin coats to avoid drips and runs. Spray it outside and down wind, because it has FUMES.
porkmeatballs
Thanks for the input, Mark! I'll probably try to pick up some type of krylon clear so I can test it out
