Strike King Mini 3

Since Strike King has discontinued my 2 favorite colors in the Mini 3 line, I'm starting to paint my own. It's actually a crappie crank, but I change out the hooks and use it for river smallies. I've been "warming up" by repainting some other cheaper brands that are close in size and painting some cheap blanks I found online that are somewhat close. If these work, great, but I'd like to find a blank that matches more closely and is of good quality. I could buy the existing Mini 3s and repaint them, but I would prefer not to go to that expense, if possible. Anyone been down this road and know of a blank that's a close match?

dingerbaits .5 square-bill is the best blank bait of that size i've found so far.  

 

You might be paying a few cents more but they are made of quality plastic.

Saw that one and its close. The body length is good as is the shape, but I need it to dive deeper. 4-6 feet with a tight wobble. Thanks for the suggestion.

Not much out there with bodies under 2 inches.  For a builder to pay $1000+ to have a mold made for crappies might be a bad investment.  I buy from all the quality suppliers.  Try china, WLURE has tons of '"junk"'.  

Crappies will come up the extra foot for a bait, I get strikes 10 feet above where they're sitting, but i troll my baits where the baits-fish are located (strike zone). If you need to get deeper add a T swivel and troll/cast it almost like a drop shot.
