MonteSS
Got this Bob's 4.5" Bluegill. Came with one weight. Can I use a worm weight as a weight (internally)? Are there tubes available to run through as I would think the line just running through plastic would wear Also with a single color without painting or powders, whats a good color? First try is color changing motor oil with gold, blue, and orange. I need to get bigger Spike it eyes too Any other thoughts? kayaksticks
not sure what size the hole is on that bait but would something like heat resistant tubing used on weed guards for jigs work if inserted in the whole? or maybe even cheap airline tubing used for fish tanks? For colors if you don't want to pain you could hand pour a little of what ever top or bottom color you want in then shot it with a twin injector for the other 2 colors? if that makes sence

MonteSS
These weights should work fine. Still workin on a tube. I have some but it is not stiff.

The weight will more than likely fade out to a pretty shade of blue in a week or two if it's lead.
MonteSS
I modded the mold a bit. Think this will roll or is CG low enough?
walleyeking
I like the idea. I would like to point out that when I've left unpainted jigs in contact with plastic the lead has a reaction with the plastic. It was Do-it plastic and I've now switched to Bait Junkies but haven't tried leaving any lead in contact with the BJs plastic to see if it does the same thing.

DaveMC, thank you! I have powderpainted my inserts to avoid corrosion, but it does NOT prevent slippage. I just read on the LW website that the Bond Coat also prevents slippage as you mentioned here. Do you (or anyone else here) happen to know what metals it will bond with? ...or specifically if there are any it does NOT bond with? Frank
Not sure if it does not work on any type of metal. But all of there water based paint will help the bonding of the plastic to whatever you are apply it to. It is waterbased so it need to dry very well to make sure it sticks. Works well when putting plastic to plastic. Just make sure it is dry.
