sdsaw
Saw this video recently. Very interesting and easy to do. What do you think of it? Would this work with a swimbait or grub?
21xdc
I prefer my method...
smalljaw
All great ideas but I don't see these as true Ned rigs. I love 21xdc's creation, but they aren't Ned rigs, they are excellent shaky heads!!! Edited December 14, 2016 by smalljaw
21xdc
The ned rig is nothing more than a button head in light weights.... Using floating plastic. I don't like an open hook in the weedy lakes we have here in Michigan... This was my solution for my needs.
mark poulson
I think the original Ned rig is meant to be dragged flat along the bottom. It think it would excel in clear lakes with no weeds. I know bass will eat a deadstick senko off the bottom, so this rig would add some movement, too. I would go with 21xdc's rig, because it is weedless and there are lots of weeds where I fish. Right now I peg a sinker to an offset worm hook, so I can drag the worm through the weeds. Jig Man
Around here the purist Ned guys use an itty bitty #4 crappie hook on a 1/16 oz head. It is so small it hardly gets hung up.

Man made brush cover is what we mostly have. BTW I did blind sow a 6.5 a couple of years ago on a Ned but I was using a #2 hook instead of a #4. (I'm not a purist and will go up to 3/0 on some of them.)
