smalljaw
I can do that but since you want the flashabou it means the skirts will be thread tied. With an Owner deep throat in 5/0 with that veined type paint you'd be looking at $5-$6 per jig. I do not do swing style jigs and I don't make the larger Poison tail. smalljaw
I apologize, I just went a tallied the cost again, you'd be looking at about $7.50 per jig. The amount of powder that would be required at the price that it cost along with the hook cost as well as time with thread tying would make this expensive no matter how you look at it. The jig armor paints from Boss can't be used in a fluid bed so that adds to the time and Owner 5304 deep throat jig hooks in a 5/0 with shipping are over a dollar each. Apdriver
Smalljaw, will wire hold the flashabou?

smalljaw
Wire will hold flashabou but not well enough for my liking. The veined powder paint, or crackle finish doesn't work well in a fluid bed because the veins are a different density than the main color, so what happens is you end up with a single color with little to no vein effect. I have veined paint from Columbia coatings as well as the jig armor and none of them work well in a fluid bed.
mark poulson
Thanks Smalljaw. That makes sense. I have to constantly stir my fluid bed powder when I add glitter, or the same thing happens. I always thread wrap before I wire. It makes adding different colored tab bits in different places easier.
