fshng2
Great day for dying. What patterns are you planning on tying with the furs? Edited January 30, 2017 by fshng2
Fatman
I cut a lot of them into zonkers and use them for tying jigs - been a couple of streamer patterns that call for the zonkers but even living in Vermont and as many people that use streamers I've never tied one!! fshng2
I don't have fur for zonkers, but I need to get some. Check out this link that shows palmering it. http://steelheadalleyflytying.blogspot.com/2013/09/matt-zudwegs-flux-capacitor.html?m=1 I think all you would need for a killer streamer would be one zonker strip. One Zonker for the tail and palmered head. Add some flash and 3d eyes and call it done. Edited January 30, 2017 by fshng2
Fatman
Besides this last order - I bought a load of arctic fox and a hugh lot of rabbit skins. My daughter brought me some old fur coats from a house she cleaned out. I cut all my own. Before I got these I bought the Hairline assorted trim bags at Cabelas and cut straight and cross cuts from those - believe me you can cut a lot of strips from the pieces they put in the bags. And a bunch cut up
fshng2
Wow you are getting stocked up. How long will it take to use them up before you need to get more? Do you ever buy whole hides/skins?

fshng2
Fatman those are some outstanding jigs! I have never used rabbit only deer hair. The rabbit looks a little like marabou, and I bet it moves much the same?
