spbubba
How do you mold the flat sheets of mesh screen to fit crank bait shapes to paint scale patterns? I am using the sheets from LPO and seem to have a hard time not getting wrinkles. Edited January 25, 2017 by spbubba
Anglinarcher
I use mesh from fabric stores because it is flexible. I make a blank without the "scale" pattern, then glue the fabric mesh, then create another mold of the new version. It works for me.
Hughesy
If it is fabric mesh, you might try washing it and rough it up a bit. let it dry and then do it again. See if it get any softer and lays down better for ya. This doesn't work on some nylon mesh.
RayburnGuy
You can try doing a dip in boiling water. Sometimes that will soften it up. A lot depends on what material the mesh is made out of. I bought mesh from Hobby Lobby. There were several different colors and the lady told me they were all made out of the same material. For some reason the blue was softer than any of the other colors. Not sure if it had something to do with the type of dye or what.
