jbrandon47
How does everyone keep the hook eyes and line tie eyes clean ? I've been dipping my cranks in DN and love the results but can't keep the eyes clean....Right now I am taking a hook heating it up and pushing it through the clear coat, but there has to be a better way. Ideas? Edited February 9, 2017 by jbrandon47

RayburnGuy
I use a toothpick to clean the eyes before the top coat cures. You'll still have a little bit that will need to be cleaned off the hanger itself, but the hole in the hanger is clear. I usually just scrape this off with a hobby knife. Super Ron
I keep a lighter on the table just for heating an exacto knife blade or a piece of wire for that purpose.

bam424
Dremel does work well. Twisting a tiny phillups screw driver does too
SW Lures
Just a tip if you tie directly to a tow eye. Always allow all clears to stay away from this eye. Others words hang nose up. I don't mind to clear hook eyes but when it comes to tow eyes I'm very protective of them. I don't want any abrasive areas on this eye. I'll tape, silicone or whatever to not have to use anything that would do this. I use a pair of smooth surface neddle nose to break any over the eye and then just chip the remainder off.
