I made a simple post in the fly tying forum saying I needed someone to a feathers on specific hook. A quick reply came then a couple emails and phone calls. What I wanted was to have a jerkbait sit in a certain position. Not knowing any better any better I thought a wet feather would do the trick. I was then given a lesson on the pros and cons of feathers versus synthetic. Jim Paden was then sent hooks for experimentation and with one of my painted baits. More phone calls and emails and the original idea was scrapped. He came up with an alternative and sent pics. Although from what I gathered he does not bass fish but did go to a river on a couple occasions to test the bait with his ideas. Success. Way above what I thought would be a simple job.
